Qubetics news: development halted, team tokens burned, TICS now on Ethereum

The latest Qubetics news in one place, with dates and sources.

Key points

  • On 6 October 2026 Qubetics said it is no longer commissioning development of its Layer 1 blockchain, chain abstraction protocol or decentralised VPN.
  • The whole team allocation, 68,093,398.2 TICS, was burned. Total supply is now about 1.294 billion.
  • TICS has been an ERC-20 token on Ethereum since 14 September 2026. The claim portal for migrated tokens has no announced deadline.
  • Most price trackers showed TICS near $0.0011 on 11 October 2026.

October 2026 brought the biggest change of direction in the short history of Qubetics. The project that sold itself as a Layer 1 blockchain connecting Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana has stopped funding that blockchain. This page sets out what was announced, what it means for people who hold TICS, and what the team has said it will do next. It will be updated when Qubetics publishes new information.

What Qubetics announced on 6 October 2026

The statement, published on the official Qubetics blog under the title "An Important Update on the Future of Qubetics and $TICS", followed a review that began after the move to Ethereum. Its main points are these.

  • Development is paused. Qubetics is "not currently commissioning continued development" of the Layer 1, the chain abstraction protocol or the dVPN. No new roadmap, development team or launch date was announced.
  • The Antier contract is ending. Antier, the outside firm that built most of the technology, is handing over repository access. Qubetics says it owns the code.
  • The code will be made public. Once the handover is reviewed, Qubetics intends to publish the repositories on GitHub so that independent developers can inspect or fork them. No developer programme was announced.
  • The team allocation is gone. All team tokens were burned in a transaction that can be checked on Etherscan.
  • The treasury will be reviewed. Allocations with no clear purpose will be burned, and whatever remains will be locked for 12 months.
  • The project says it is not shutting down. It describes the change as a transition in technical direction.

The statement also admits that this differs from what holders were told in August, when Qubetics expected to keep building chain abstraction and the dVPN on Ethereum. The team's explanation is that the August post reflected its intention at the time and the review later reached a different conclusion.

The token burn in numbers

ItemTICS
Total supply before the burn1,361,867,964
Team allocation burned68,093,398.2
Total supply after the burn1,293,774,565.8
Held by the Qubetics treasury667,281,541.37
Treasury share of supplyabout 51.6%

Two details matter here. The TICS contract has a burn function but no mint function, so burned tokens cannot be recreated. And the treasury still holds more than half of all TICS. How much of that is burned, and how the rest is locked, is the next piece of news to watch for. Qubetics declined to give an estimate in advance and said it will publish transaction hashes when the review is finished.

The move to Ethereum

The migration was announced on 28 August 2026 and carried out on 14 September. At block 6,650,277 the Qubetics Layer 1 stopped and a snapshot recorded every eligible balance, including staked tokens, tokens being unbonded and unclaimed rewards. Holders can claim the same number of ERC-20 TICS on Ethereum, one for one, through the migration page on the official Qubetics website.

MEXC and LBank said they would handle the swap for tokens held on their platforms. Coinstore delisted the old token. In the October update Qubetics said there is "currently no planned deadline" for claims and that tokens waiting in the claim contract are separate from the treasury and will not be burned. Our airdrop and claim guide walks through the steps.

How the market reacted

TICS was already weak before the announcement. A CoinGecko reading from the days around it showed a price of $0.003859, a market value under $1 million and a fall of about 30% in a week. By 11 October 2026 CoinCodex, BitScreener and BeInCrypto all showed the token between $0.0010 and $0.0011, and BitScreener put the seven-day fall at roughly 78%.

That leaves TICS more than 99.9% below the $2.22 high it reached in July 2025. Trading is thin. CoinGecko listed MEXC as the only active market, with about $57,000 changing hands in a day. In a market that small, modest orders can move the price a long way. The TICS price analysis has the full history.

Earlier Qubetics news from 2026

  • 3 to 11 February: a governance proposal added dVPN modules to the chain, and Qubetics published a guide to running a dVPN node.
  • 6 February: GodsPower Effiong joined as executive advisor. On 26 March he became chief executive.
  • March: partnerships were announced with AIW3, UXLINK, AurumX and PlaysOut.
  • 24 March: a technical update addressed complaints about a delayed CertiK audit of chain abstraction, the dVPN experience and slow RPC performance.
  • 1 April: Qubetics explained that Google Play had repeatedly rejected the Android wallet build that includes the dVPN.
  • 12 September: a governance proposal asked to refund dVPN node operators' registration deposits from the community pool, two days before the chain stopped.

What this means if you hold TICS

Three practical points follow from the announcements. First, if your tokens were on the old Qubetics chain at the snapshot, they are claimable on Ethereum only through the official migration page, using the same wallet address. Second, the token no longer has a live network, staking or dVPN behind it, so its price now rests on trading demand and on whatever the team or outside developers build later. Third, Qubetics has stated plainly that holding TICS is not ownership of the project and carries no right to direct its decisions.

Watch for fake claim sites. Migrations attract phishing. Qubetics says its staff will never ask for a private key or recovery phrase. Type the official address yourself instead of following links from social media or private messages.

What to watch next

  1. Confirmation that the Antier engagement has closed.
  2. Publication of the Qubetics codebases on GitHub.
  3. The treasury review, with the size of any further burns.
  4. Details of the 12-month lock: amounts, contract address and expiry date.
  5. Any change in exchange support for the ERC-20 token.

Frequently asked questions

Is Qubetics shutting down?

Qubetics says no. It has stopped paying for development of its blockchain, chain abstraction and dVPN, and says it is concluding existing work and restructuring its token holdings. It has not announced any new product.

Is the Qubetics blockchain still running?

No. According to the migration guide, the Layer 1 stopped at block 6,650,277 on 14 September 2026. TICS now exists as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.

Who runs Qubetics now?

GodsPower Effiong has been chief executive since 26 March 2026, according to the official blog. CoinGecko lists the developer as Qubetics Labs LLC.

Where is TICS traded?

CoinGecko showed MEXC as the active market in early October 2026. LBank also said it would support the migrated token. Listings change, so check the exchange before sending funds.
